The Christ Child
Over the years, Thomas Nast drew scores of images of Christmas themes. Children, family, and fun dominated. The magic of Santa excited children. They could see the mundane world as a time when the most fantastic things could take place. Parents were engaged too, as they, once each year, became Santa’s real helpers. And as for Santa’s red suit? Thomas Nast isn't connected to the color, as his Harper’s Weekly illustrations were printed in monochrome.
