The Terror by Night by Elizabeth Goudge. Redbook, v076 n02 [1940-12]

William Reusswig (1902-1978) was an American artist with German roots, born in Somerville, New Jersey; he studied at the Art Students League. William Reusswig illustrated popular glossy magazines such as Cosmopolitan, Everybody's, Liberty, Redbook, The Saturday Evening Post, Country Gentleman and sold covers to pulp magazines. William Roiswig's work seems to me to fall somewhat out of the mainstream of American illustration of that time: it is quite distinctive and varied in subject matter.
