Charles Archibald MacLellan (1885-1961) was an American painter and illustrator who studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and with Howard Pyle in Wilmington; his work enjoyed widespread popularity in the United States, and he was arguably one of the most recognizable cover artists of the early twentieth century.
